Web Hosting

General hosting questions, uptime, upgrades and billing

Disk space refers to the total space available for a user to store files on at any time. Files may be any type — HTML, images, videos — and at any single given time, the total file size may not exceed the disk space. Your email account's storage is also counted in disk space, so plan for future growth without switching hosts.
Once the server is deployed, a refund cannot be issued or the order cancelled. Please choose your package carefully before completing your purchase.

SSL Certificates

Browser trust, CSR, validity periods and wildcard certificates

When a browser encounters an SSL certificate, it checks if the certificate is valid and trusted via a pre-installed root certificate. If the root is not present, a security warning is shown to the end user.
A CSR is a public key generated on your server. It is required during SSL enrollment as it validates specific information about your web server and organisation. Your host can generate it if you don't have server access.
Our SSL and Wildcard SSL certificates can be purchased for terms of 1 to 3 years. Renewal is straightforward and can be done before expiry from your client area.
Our value proposition is simple: high-quality SSL protection at a low cost. We back all certificates with warranties and provide multi-year pricing to keep your site secure without breaking your budget.
Certificate authorities (CAs) are companies that issue SSL certificates. Browsers like Firefox and Chrome maintain a list of trusted CAs — if your certificate comes from a trusted CA, the browser marks your site as secure.
A Wildcard SSL certificate covers your root domain and all its subdomains (e.g. blog.mysite.com, shop.mysite.com) under a single certificate — saving cost and simplifying management.

Domain Names

Registration, extensions, SEO and registrar roles

No. All domain extensions are considered equal by Google. There is no automatic ranking preference given to a .com domain over any other extension.
Yes — registering .net and .org variants of your domain prevents others from using them and redirecting your visitors elsewhere. It's a smart brand protection move.
Anyone can register a domain. All you need is a good name, an account with HostDel, and an accepted form of payment. The process takes just a few minutes.
A domain name is your address on the internet. They come in different types including TLDs (.com, .net), ccTLDs (.co.uk, .de) and gTLDs (.store, .tech). Each type serves a different purpose.
A registrar is the critical link between the domain registry operator and the registrant. They handle registration, renewal, transfers and DNS management on your behalf.
Shorter is generally better — easier to type, remember, and share. Aim for under 15 characters where possible, avoid hyphens and numbers, and make sure it's easy to spell when spoken aloud.
